The village forms part of the urban district of Iskele and is about 4 miles from the small town of that name. There is an excellent modern supermarket on the outskirts of Bogaz and the village is famous for its very pretty setting and small working fishing harbour. Around the harbour can be found a first class selection of restaurants and bars where one can enjoy a pleasant drink or a meal as you survey the activities in the harbour or watch the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean lap onto the beach. The area is blessed with a number of sandy beaches and a short drive takes you to the stunning scenery of the Karpaz region.
In the town of Iskele there are two hospitals, one private and one government owned. Also there are a number of pharmacies with a rota system ensuring at least one is available at all times in case of emergency. The town has some excellent schools including a government owned school for children aged from 5 to 16 years. There are several shops and banks in the town plus other businesses such as hairdressers, garages and a vets practice. Closer to Bogaz and the property there is a modern supermarket.
